Sunday 23rd August.   Edinburgh H3   Run No 1490   Hare - The Brewer
Venue – The Navaar House Hotel, 23 Bog Road, Penicuik at 11.15am
Penicuik is a small town close to Edinburgh on the No 37 bus route which goes every 20 minutes on a Sunday. The Penicuik area provides great hashing and the Navaar House Hotel is a hash friendly establishment with a big beer garden.
How To Get There
- By Car. Leave the City Bypass at the Straiton Junction and head South on the A701. Stay on the A701 through a series of roundabouts to Penicuik and once in Penicuik stay on the main road (A701) through the town centre. At the bottom of the High Street, the main road goes left and on the corner you need to turn right into West Street. After a short distance turn right, keeping on the main road which becomes Bog Road. The Hotel is 100 yards on the left.
- By Bus. Catch the number 37 Lothian bus on North Bridge at either 10.04 or 10.24am.
North Bridge is the bridge over Waverley Station and it runs South from the East end of Princes Street - you need to catch the bus going South ie away from Princes Street. The bus stop is not the first one on North Bridge - make sure No 37 is on the list of buses on the bus stop. Bus fare is £1.20. The above buses will arrive in Penicuik at 10.43 & 11.03. Stay on the bus through the town centre - there is a bus stop right outside the Navaar House Hotel. If in doubt, tell the bus driver where you want to get off.
Cost  EH3 runs are £1 for bucket & Down Downs. No charge for first time visitors.
The hotel is laying on a BBQ at £5 each. Pay at the bar and get a food token before the run starts.
Almost certainly there will be an On On On back in Edinburgh later in the afternoon.

The distillery visitor centre is excellent, the distillery tour is informative and interesting and the opportunity to taste a couple (maybe more if you're nice to the bar staff) of fine malt whiskies at the end of the tour is exceptional.
The bus will leave at 10.30am from Waterloo Place - this is the continuation eastwards from the East End of Princes Street. The pick up point is 100 yards along Waterloo Place from the East End of Princes Street junction with North Bridge & Leith Street.
After the tour, the bus will take you to Edinburgh Sports Club in time for the TNT H3 run – see below.
