Accommodation Options

On Saturday 29th August 2009, there will be a concert by the Scottish band Runrig in the grounds of Scone Palace which is near Perth Race Course. There will be no effect on NH 2009 except for the occupancy of local hotels and B+B's. If you plan to stay in off course accommodation please make your booking ASAP.
Camping / caravanning on site as well as the Jockeys' Hostel are unaffected.

1. Tents, Camper Vans, Caravans.

There are 2 large grass areas available for camping a) centre course opposite the Nelson Stand (no. 5 on the course plan – see the website) and b) to the east (left as you arrive) of the buildings complex (no.35 / 36 on the plan). Cars may be parked beside your tent and camper vans are also permitted in these areas.

There is a large area of hard standing suitable for caravans and camper vans to the left of the car park (no.33 on the plan).

There will be signs or someone to direct you as you arrive.
Dogs are permitted in the racecourse camping areas but please make sure you clean up after them.

If you are travelling by air ( or indeed by any other means ), want to travel light and would like to camp on site we are considering a package deal as follows :-
We will purchase and have waiting for you at registration:

- 2 person tent, 2 single air beds & 2 sleeping bags.

We cannot at this stage give a guaranteed price for this but we will do so as soon as 2009 prices become clear. It is anticipated that this will cost around £50 or £60 and payment in advance will be required.
If you are interested in this option please email monsoondrainbill@yahoo.co.uk to register your interest and receive price and payment details in due course.

Power. Power connections are not available in the above car park area.
If you want power for your caravan / camper the only option is to use the caravan site the entrance of which is on the right as you arrive at the racecourse.
The site is owned by the Camping and Caravanning Club although Club membership is not necessary.
Bookings can be made by visiting the website www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk or telephoning 01738 552 323.
